Expanding to Over 40 Pet Food Brands
Coupang announced on the 13th that it has launched the personalized pet nutrition management service 'Rocket Pet Doctor 2.0' and is targeting the premium pet care market.
Rocket Pet Doctor is a service where veterinarians recommend pet food tailored to the health condition of pets based on veterinary and nutritional data. Consumers fill out a profile including their pet's age, weight, and body type, and submit information such as stool condition and medical history. Within 10 minutes, a veterinarian provides suitable pet food recommendations and a health management report. Since its debut in May last year, the cumulative number of users has exceeded hundreds of thousands.
With the upgrade to Rocket Pet Doctor 2.0, Coupang has strengthened the health check survey items. The pre-questions have been enhanced to recommend specialized foods for diseases, foods with improved palatability for picky eaters, and functional foods for joint strengthening and eye health, tailored to specific purposes. Additionally, veterinarians’ profiles now specify their alma mater, and detailed nutritional and medical evidence is provided when recommending pet food. Nutritional supplements that can synergize with the pet food are also suggested. A veterinary nutrition specialist has newly joined the service to provide customized nutritional solutions not only for diagnosing and treating pet diseases but also for health prevention and management.
Coupang expanded the pet food brands linked to Rocket Pet Doctor from 9 to over 40, broadening consumer choices. Newly added brands include Harim Pet Food, Willow Pet, ZiwiPeak, and Purina. The company explained that with the addition of well-known domestic and international brands to the existing prescription and therapeutic brands, customers can find a variety of products ranging from premium to functional pet foods all in one place.
Rocket Pet Doctor is available in the pet supplies category of the Coupang app and is free for all members. A Coupang representative said, "Rocket Pet Doctor 2.0 helps manage pet health through professional veterinary consultations and a wide range of product choices," adding, "We will continue to introduce innovative services for pet families."
