At the event, about 30 current and former members of the Gwangju City Council, including Lee Woo-kyung, president of the Council Alumni Association, exchanged opinions on major local issues and discussed matters that the council should consider and review for the citizens. In particular, members of the Council Alumni Association emphasized that "large-scale projects in Gwangju City must be thoroughly verified before proceeding."

Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng stated, "Following the wise advice of our predecessors, I once again recognize the importance of the council's role and will fulfill my responsibilities as a representative of the citizens," adding, "I ask for your great interest in the 313th 2nd regular session starting on the 27th."
