PC Platform Global Publishing
Official Launch Next Year
Smilegate's indie game platform 'Stove Indie' announced on the 12th (Tuesday) that it has signed a global publishing contract for the PC platform of the soul-like game 'V.E.D.A (Veda)' with the domestic developer Trypul Games.
Veda is set in a near-future post-apocalypse world where 90% of humanity has died due to an ancient virus, and survivors live in underground bunkers to escape mutated creatures.
Players can play with the concept of accessing a training simulator created by Veda to practice high-difficulty combat. Additionally, new players can enjoy the game more comfortably with roguelite-style growth elements that alleviate the stress of character death. Trypul Games is currently developing the game, aiming for an official release next year.
Veda has already made a mark among many indie game fans by participating in various global game exhibitions such as G-Star, TGS, and Gamescom. It has been selected for awards including the Grand Prize at '2024 Indie Craft,' 2024 BIC Stove Indie Pick, the Most Anticipated Game at the 2023 G-Star Indie Showcase, and TOP 3 at the 17th Gyeonggi Game Audition.
Under this contract, Smilegate plans to provide an environment that allows Trypul Games to focus more on development and will actively support global marketing and user communication.
Yeoseunghwan, director at Smilegate, said, "Veda is a game whose excellence has already been proven through many game shows," adding, "We will devote ourselves to widely promoting the fun of domestic soul-like games by actively utilizing Stove Indie's business know-how."
Meanwhile, Veda is scheduled to participate in the 'Game Level-Up Showcase 2024' joint booth operated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, as well as the 'G-Star Indie Showcase' at Korea's largest game exhibition, 'G-Star 2024.' The 'PS5 build' will be unveiled for the first time at this G-Star.
