Gyeonggi Province will provide a real-time 'Visitor Status Map' service for major locations such as tourist sites to enhance residents' convenience and safety management.
The Visitor Status Map is part of the crowd management system used by Gyeonggi Province's social disaster department, displaying real-time visitor numbers and hourly visit status at 148 major locations within the province, including Suwon Station and Everland, updated every 5 minutes.
Gyeonggi Province decided to disclose this information through the Gyeonggi Data Dream website (data.gg.go.k) starting from the 13th, allowing residents to check real-time information about areas they wish to visit, especially after the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) or during the year-end and New Year holidays, so they can enjoy leisure activities safely.
Kim Ki-byeong, Director of the AI Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Other metropolitan governments such as Seoul and Busan provide visitor information during festival periods, but Gyeonggi Province plans to offer continuous service from November, after the CSAT, through early next year," adding, "We will continue to discover and expand resident services utilizing big data such as visitor information."
