Namyangju-si Holds 19th Graduation Ceremony of Green Agriculture University

2165 Agricultural Professionals Trained

On the 12th, Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held the graduation ceremony for the 19th class of Namyangju Green Agriculture University at the Agricultural Technology Center auditorium.

The graduation ceremony was attended by 80 people, including Joo Gwang-deok, mayor of Namyangju and head of Green Agriculture University, graduates from the Field Crops and Traditional Fermentation departments, and key guests. The event proceeded in the order of △ progress report △ awarding of diplomas and commendations △ graduation speeches and congratulatory remarks.


This year’s graduates included 58 people, led by Hee-sook Koo, with 12 people including Mi-kyung Kim receiving perfect attendance awards, and 8 people including Mi-kyung Park being commended for excellent participation in education and contributions to autonomous activities.


The Field Crops and Traditional Fermentation courses began with an entrance ceremony on March 20 and continued through this month with a total of 25 sessions and 100 hours of academic schedule.


The curriculum included both theory and practice on △ soil △ microorganisms △ agricultural machinery △ field crop cultivation techniques △ traditional sauces, traditional liquor, and traditional foods, and was operated through customized lectures based on field education.


Since its first class in 2006, Namyangju Green Agriculture University has produced a total of 2,165 agricultural professionals up to the 19th class this year. The 2025 curriculum will be announced on the Namyangju Agricultural Technology Center website in early January next year.


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “In agricultural conditions facing various challenges such as ongoing abnormal climate, I hope that the knowledge, skills, and experience learned through the Agricultural University will help turn crises into opportunities and become the main players in the new leap forward of Namyangju agriculture.”


In response, Jin-woo Lee and Eung-kyung Lee, a couple representing the graduates, said, “Through the Green Agriculture University course, we realized that agriculture is not just a simple job but communication with nature and a field closely connected to our lives. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the Agricultural Technology Center, we were able to develop a deep understanding and love for agriculture,” sharing their thoughts.


Meanwhile, the Namyangju Green Agriculture University Smart Agriculture course provided practical help for farm application through 16 sessions and 76 hours of theory and field education related to smart farms every Friday from July 12 to November 1. The completion ceremony was held on November 1 at the Picnico Farm in Yeoju.
