Hong Joon-pyo: "Yoon Couple Using Abusive Language Against Korean Family Name... Immediate Investigation Requested"

"Don't Even Think About Destroying Evidence"

Hong Jun-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, urged, regarding the posts criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife under the name of Representative Han Dong-hoon and his family on the People Power Party member bulletin board, "This is not a party audit issue; immediately request an investigation."

On the 12th, Mayor Hong criticized on his social media (SNS), "Hundreds of posts insulting the presidential couple were made under the name of the party leader's family on the member bulletin board, but the party is not thinking of immediately requesting an investigation to uncover the truth of the matter and is just keeping quiet and letting it pass?"

He urged the party to respond actively, saying, "Do not think about destroying evidence; if it is impersonation (모용, falsely using a name or qualification to impersonate), the impersonators must be identified and punished. If it is true, appropriate measures should be taken accordingly." At the same time, he directly criticized Seo Beom-su, the Secretary-General, who is classified as part of the 친한 (Chinhan, pro-Han Dong-hoon) faction, asking, "What on earth is the Secretary-General doing?"

Meanwhile, earlier this month, claims spread online that posts criticizing President Yoon and his wife were made under the name of Representative Han and his family on the People Power Party member bulletin board.

Within the party, voices called for uncovering the truth through a party audit. Former People Power Party Youth Supreme Council member Jang Ye-chan said on SNS that day, "I urge a thorough investigation into the alleged Druking scandal involving the entire family of Representative Han Dong-hoon, in line with the public's expectations."

However, Representative Joo Jin-woo, the People Power Party's legal advisory chairman, announced through the media on the 6th that "The false information spread by a YouTuber regarding the member bulletin board is clearly not true, and legal action is planned."
