"Government Focused Support to Overcome Polarization"
Next Month's Small Business Support Measures to Include No-Show Issue
The Presidential Office stated on the 12th that regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's presentation of resolving polarization as a key policy keyword for the latter half of his term, "If the primary distribution function in the market does not work properly, causing polarization, the government must step in to perform the secondary distribution function."
A Presidential Office official met with reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office that afternoon and said about the polarization resolution plan, "It is not simply expansionary fiscal policy, but the intention is to provide focused support for the necessary parts to overcome polarization."
The official explained, "If the government moved mainly through the private sector and market in the first half of the term, in the second half, the aim is to create an environment where everyone works hard by resolving polarization."
Regarding the small business owners and self-employed measures to be announced next month, the Presidential Office official said, "It is about resolving damages related to the livelihoods of small business owners," adding, "No-shows (reservation defaults) and others will be included."
About President Yoon mentioning the case of a single mother in her 30s who took her own life after suffering from illegal debt collection and his commitment to mobilize investigative capabilities to eradicate illegal debt collection, the official added, "Illegal finance is becoming a social problem," and "If viewed broadly, this can be seen as part of the polarization issue, so we will investigate further and consider what improvement measures can be taken."
