"Get Rid of the Jeonse System Instead"… Crayon Pop Former Member YouTuber's Desperate Plea Former Crayon Pop member and YouTuber Way (real name Heo Min-seon) confessed to being a victim of a jeonse fraud. YouTube channel 'Wayland'

Former Crayon Pop member and YouTuber Way (real name Heo Min-seon) revealed that she was a victim of a jeonse fraud.

On the 11th, Way uploaded a video titled "Jeonse Fraud, Will I Be Okay?" on her YouTube channel "Wayland." In the video, she confessed, "I think I was a victim of jeonse fraud," adding, "Since I haven't received the money, it is indeed fraud." She continued, "I registered for the jeonse deposit insurance with the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) and even filed for a leasehold registration order, but it doesn't end there," explaining, "You have to prepare a lot of documents, and you can only apply by saying 'I still haven't received the money' after not receiving it from the landlord for over two months." She added, "Since I couldn't move out, interest kept accumulating, and I have been unable to contact the landlord. It's only been two months now, and I'm trying to apply, but there are so many documents to prepare."

She called the court to check the required documents but couldn't get through, so she visited in person. She explained, "I handled everything like the deposit receipt, bank transfer records, and financial transaction confirmation. Since the contract deposit was sent from another bank, I have to go there to handle that as well," adding, "The jeonse amount and the total transfer amount must match." At one point, she showed her frustration, saying, "Give me my money back, seriously."

Way said, "There are so many jeonse fraud cases these days, and they are well covered on YouTube," and shared some new things she learned: "It's better to go in person, and you must clearly state to the landlord that you do not intend to extend the jeonse contract after it ends." She also emphasized, "It's important to keep a record of this, but KakaoTalk only shows the profile and not the landlord's contact number, so it doesn't count. Therefore, I recommend text messages over KakaoTalk." Finally, she lamented, "In my opinion, the jeonse system should be abolished. What crime did we commit? I heard the review process takes up to three months. So I have to worry for another three months."

Meanwhile, Way debuted in 2012 as a member of the group Crayon Pop and gained fame with the hit song "Bar Bar Bar." She later transitioned to being a YouTuber and currently has over 300,000 subscribers.
