The Garden Dream Project is a program that supports garden major students in creating practice gardens on idle land owned by local governments, helping them cultivate field-oriented skills necessary for employment and entrepreneurship.

Through the 2024 Garden Dream Project, a total of 25 gardens were created nationwide across five regions (Namyangju, Sejong, Daejeon, Chuncheon, Namhae-Jinju) under the theme ‘Healing Gardens: Gardens for Cities, Environment, and Humans.’

At this awards ceremony, among the 25 gardens, six gardens that received excellent scores through performance presentations and on-site evaluations were awarded, and among them, the ‘Romantic Recharge Station’ garden created by the ‘Kkotipjeom’ team from the Namyangju area won the grand prize.

‘Romantic Recharge Station’ is a garden created by the ‘Kkotipjeom’ team, composed of students from Seoul Women’s University and University of Seoul, with artist Sang Min-jeong as their mentor, located in the buffer green space of Dasan-dong (Dasan-dong 6091-1).

Designed as a nest-like space where the ‘romance’ forgotten in busy daily life can be recharged, it aims to provide resting citizens with mental relaxation so they can return to their daily lives and continue to soar.

In the Namyangju area, besides ‘Romantic Recharge Station,’ the following gardens are also provided as healing spaces and hubs for spreading garden culture to citizens: △ ‘Slow Garden’ by the Ogamjadeul team (Byeollae-dong 987), △ ‘Umtum Garden Sprout Garden’ by the Osondoson team (Byeollae-dong 932-9), △ ‘Tteum; Opening Life into Space’ by the Udada team (Dasan-dong 6130-3), and △ ‘The Aesthetics of Slowness’ by the Ojakgyo team (Dasan-dong 6160-1).
