At a press briefing held at the Government Seoul Office on the 12th, Minister Cho said, "The policy direction of President-elect Trump, which emphasizes the expansion of the role of allied countries and contributions to security, aligns with our vision of being a global pivotal state that fulfills roles and responsibilities commensurate with our national power and status."


Minister Cho explained, "The first Trump administration was the first US administration to actively promote the Indo-Pacific strategy," adding, "The free and open Indo-Pacific order and alliance relationships emphasized through the Indo-Pacific strategy by the Trump administration largely coincide with the diplomatic stance of the Yoon Suk-yeol government."


He further emphasized, "Based on these policy intersections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to strengthen cooperation with the second Trump administration through detailed policy coordination."
