The Uijeongbu Lifelong Learning Center Foundation (Director Yoo Sang-jin) announced on the 12th that it won the Excellence Award at the 21st Korea Lifelong Learning Awards held on the 8th for the project ‘Citizen-Created Uijeongbu Innovation Lab "Uijeongbu Citizen University".’

Hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education, the Korea Lifelong Learning Awards is a prestigious award recognizing outstanding contributions in the field of lifelong learning. The award was given in recognition of Uijeongbu Citizen University's innovative citizen-led policy proposals that revitalized public discourse and the operation of pilot projects.

Uijeongbu Citizen University creates an innovative learning environment reflecting diverse community needs by gathering citizens to propose policies, discussing feasible policies through citizen-led public forums, and operating pilot projects based on these discussions. This award serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the positive impact Uijeongbu Citizen University has had on the local community and raises expectations for its continued development and growth.
