City and County Competition... "Supporting the Expansion of Senior Sports Participation"
Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do recently successfully concluded the '2024 Millennium Light Yeonggwang Gateball Tournament' held at the Yeonggwang Sportium Auxiliary Stadium.
According to the county on the 12th, the tournament featured over 300 players and officials from 33 teams representing 12 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do. The event was hosted by Yeonggwang-gun and organized by the Yeonggwang-gun Sports Council and Yeonggwang-gun Gateball Association.

The competition format was a city and county team event, with preliminary league matches followed by a final knockout tournament to determine the champion.
As a result, the first place was awarded to the Yeonggwang-gun Welfare Team, second place to Yeonggwang-gun Yeonggwang A Team, and joint third place to Hampyeong-gun Hampyeong C Team and Yeonggwang-gun Yeonggwang B Team. Yeonggwang-gun swept first, second, and third places, demonstrating the highest level of skill in Jeollanam-do.
A county official stated, “We will continue to pay close attention and provide support to expand senior sports not only in gateball but also in healthy leisure activities.”
