Secured 25 Million KRW in Subsidies for "Hyodong Solnaeumnuri-gil Forest Stories Told by Residents"

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 12th that the project "The Forest Story of Hyodong Solnaeumnuri-gil Told by Residents" in the Hyodong area of Deogyang-gu was selected in the Gyeonggi-do's '2025 Border Area Resident Self-sustaining Village Vitality Project (Phase 1)' competition.

The 'Border Area Resident Self-sustaining Village Vitality Project' is divided into Phase 1 resident capacity-building projects and Phase 2 infrastructure construction and comprehensive development projects, aiming to realize profitable small villages through phased projects.
With the selection of the "The Forest Story of Hyodong Solnaeumnuri-gil Told by Residents" project in the '2025 Border Area Resident Self-sustaining Village Vitality Project (Phase 1)' competition, the city secured 25 million KRW in provincial funding.
Following the selection for this Phase 1 project, the city plans to establish a forest interpreter training system and provide resident capacity-building education centered on the existing Hyodong village community, as well as develop a village development plan.
Next year, the city aims to challenge the village vitality project (Phase 2) competition, targeting the creation of a forest healing space and the establishment of a foundation for forest interpreter activities.
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, said, "Thanks to the active participation and cooperation of residents, we were able to be selected for the competition project," adding, "We will continue to support citizen-centered urban regeneration and village vitality projects and spare no effort for various initiatives for regional development."
