Yangju City Conducts Joint Crackdown on Illegal Vehicles with Korea Transportation Safety Authority

On the 14th, crackdown on vehicles violating safety standards including illegal structural modifications, poor maintenance, and license plate damage in Okjeong New Town and surrounding areas

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 12th that it will conduct a joint crackdown on illegal vehicle modifications and vehicles violating safety standards (including two-wheelers) in areas such as Okjeong New Town on the 14th, in cooperation with the Automobile Safety Inspectors of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Gyeonggi Northern Headquarters, to alleviate citizen inconveniences.

This crackdown aims to promote awareness of violations and spread a safe traffic culture.

The targets of the crackdown are vehicles with illegal structural modifications, poor maintenance, damaged or obscured license plates, installation of unapproved lighting equipment, and other safety standard violations. Through focused enforcement and guidance, the campaign intends to raise awareness of violations and promote safety consciousness.

Vehicles caught violating regulations during the crackdown may face administrative actions such as maintenance orders, restoration orders, and fines in accordance with the Automobile Management Act.

A Yangju City official stated, “We will make every effort to expand traffic safety culture and minimize citizen inconvenience through continuous illegal vehicle crackdowns.”
