The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has submitted its 2025 budget proposal to the city council, totaling 2.7971 trillion won, an increase of 90.2 billion won compared to this year's main budget.

Key allocations include 61.1 billion won for the expansion and operation of Neulbom School, 17.7 billion won for creating safe school learning environments and protecting and supporting educational activities, and 66.2 billion won for supporting digital education and strengthening teacher competency.

Seol Dongho, Superintendent of the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "Despite unstable conditions such as the reduction of local education finances, the 2025 budget proposal aims to strengthen our students' future competencies by promoting a variety of substantial education policies, including Daejeon Neulbom School, the high school credit system, and digital education."

The budget proposal will undergo review by the city council's Education Committee and Special Budget and Accounts Committee, and is scheduled for final approval at the plenary session on December 13.
