All Frozen Trucks Transporting Melona to Be Replaced with Electric Vehicles... "Reducing 700 Tons of Carbon Annually"

Binggrae Plans to Convert All 230+ Vehicles to Electric Cars

From now on, all refrigerated trucks transporting Melona will be replaced with electric vehicles.

Binggrae announced on the 12th that it will convert its commercial refrigerated trucks to electric vehicles to establish an eco-friendly workplace.

The vehicles being converted this time are those used at Binggrae's sales offices for delivering frozen products. Starting with 31 vehicles this year, Binggrae plans to sequentially convert all 230 vehicles to electric vehicles.

When all commercial refrigerated trucks are converted to electric vehicles, an annual reduction of 700 tons of carbon emissions is expected.

Binggrae installed electric vehicle charging facilities at each workplace to ensure no inconvenience in vehicle use and conducted on-site training for sales staff on how to use electric vehicles and charging facilities safely. It is anticipated that the convenience and safety of sales staff driving will greatly improve after the introduction of electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, Binggrae continues to demonstrate ongoing eco-friendly management activities and achievements. Recognized for efforts toward carbon neutrality, including plastic reduction, carbon emission reduction activities, and numerous resource circulation campaigns, Binggrae received the Minister of Environment Award in September last year at the ‘2023 Disposable Products, Packaging Reduction and Recycling Promotion Excellent Business Operator Contest,’ and in November, it was awarded the ‘Carbon Neutral Lifestyle Practice Excellent Company Plaque’ at the ‘2023 Carbon Neutral Lifestyle Practice National Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Environment and organized by the Korea Climate Environment Network.
