Samsung Electronics provided 128 patents free of charge to 85 companies this year. On the 12th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the '2024 Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy-Samsung Electronics Technology Sharing Event' at the Samjung Hotel in Seoul, attended by representatives of 68 beneficiary companies of technology sharing.

Since participating in technology sharing in 2015, Samsung Electronics has provided 6,808 technologies for technology sharing to date. Among them, 1,210 patents were transferred free of charge to 673 companies. Samsung Electronics has shown the best performance among participating institutions in technology sharing in terms of the cumulative number of technologies provided, the number of transferred technologies, and the number of beneficiary companies.

This year, 128 patented technologies were provided, and all 128 patents were transferred to 85 companies. The major patents being transferred this time include the 'Route Recommendation Method,' which suggests the optimal route to the target based on biometric information such as the user's heart rate and geographic information such as surrounding uphill areas; the 'Display Control Method,' which tracks the user's gaze on the screen and allows execution of desired functions through eye blinks; and the 'Wireless Network Connection Method,' where content is automatically shared between devices simply by touching a smartphone to the RFID tag (an electronic medium storing unique information to identify specific objects using radio frequencies) of a smart TV.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated, "We will continue to support small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies to gain opportunities for innovative growth such as new product development and new business entry through technology sharing."
