On the 11th, Kyungbok University held an unveiling ceremony for the bust of Dr. Kim Jang-hwan, the first Honorary Chairman of the Kyungbok University Foundation, at the Namyangju Campus.
The ceremony was attended by over 500 people, including key guests such as Kim Jang-hwan, the first Honorary Chairman, Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, Jeon Jae-wook, founder of Kyungbok University, Jeon Ji-yong, President of Kyungbok University, Yoo Myung-hwan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Jang Jun-gyu, former Chief of Staff of the Army, as well as faculty, staff, and students of the university.

Kyungbok University explained that the unveiling of the bust was conducted with the hope that students would reflect on Chairman Kim Jang-hwan’s life story as a mirror to practice learning through liberal arts education.
Jeon Jae-wook, founder of Kyungbok University, introduced Dr. Kim Jang-hwan as “a figure who is not only devoted to promoting national prestige but also continuously involved in the development of Kyungbok University, earning global respect.”
The event proceeded with President Jeon Ji-yong’s speech on the establishment of the bust, followed by the unveiling by key figures and a commemorative photo session.
