On the 11th, Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) attended the opening ceremony of the Choansan Ceramic Experience Center Residents' Special Exhibition held in the lobby of the Nowon-gu Office.
This exhibition was organized to introduce the Choansan Ceramic Experience Center, a healing spot in the city, to residents and to provide an opportunity to experience ceramic culture.
The special exhibition featured about 317 works created by 116 residents. Various ceramic experience works such as moon jars and tea sets were displayed, and all visitors can freely view the exhibition. The exhibition runs from the 11th to the 15th in the lobby of the Nowon-gu Office.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 60 local residents including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, and proceeded with a report on the exhibition background, greetings, a commemorative 'Ceramic Signing Ceremony,' and exhibition touring.
The Choansan Ceramic Experience Center was established by Nowon-gu in 2020 for residents' healing and leisure activities. It covers a land area of 278.88㎡ and is equipped with two experience rooms, an exhibition room, and a ceramic kiln room. The area around the experience center is developed as an ecological park with a lawn plaza, walking trails, and a science playground, serving as an eco-friendly resting place where residents can enjoy leisure in nature.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "I sincerely congratulate the exhibition," and added, "I hope this exhibition allows many people to feel the charm of ceramic culture and serves as an opportunity to raise the cultural level of Nowon."
