Project Presentation on 'Brain Health Improvement Training Service Development'
The Gyeonggi Content Agency (Gyeonggi Content Agency) and Uijeongbu City held the '2024 Uijeongbu Innovation City Startup Challenge' demo day on the 8th at Anakia, where five finalist companies competed, and NoiLab, which proposed the 'Brain Health Management Content Development' project, won the grand prize.
According to Gyeonggi Content Agency on the 11th, the 'Uijeongbu Innovation City Startup Challenge' is a company audition to discover content projects applicable to Uijeongbu city administration and to conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) technology verification. About 100 companies proposed projects, and five of them advanced to the finals.
The five companies that advanced to the finals have been refining their project ideas since July through administrative mentoring by Uijeongbu city officials and public institutions, as well as expert business consulting. The final competition held on the 8th was conducted in a presentation format.
Each company introduced their project for 15 minutes in front of the judges, answered questions, and was evaluated.
The grand prize was awarded to NoiLab, which presented the project 'Development of a Training Service for Brain Health Improvement.' NoiLab is developing the 'NOIsical' service, a brain health data visualization solution.
During the challenge period, NoiLab collaborated with the Dementia Management Team of the Eastern Health Center in Uijeongbu City to receive necessary data and further develop the project.
Hwang Byung-hoon, CEO of NoiLab, said, “We plan to expand PoC cooperation institutions to two other senior welfare centers and develop the project further. We aim to apply the dementia prevention program to Uijeongbu City senior welfare centers in the second half of 2025.”
He also expressed the vision, “In the long term, we will expand the service to 'brain training' necessary for everyone, not just dementia prevention.”
The judging panel stated, “The ideas presented by the participating companies are expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the Uijeongbu regional economy and improving citizen welfare. We hope they overcome practical challenges during the PoC process and successfully establish themselves in the market.”
The grand prize-winning company will receive a prize of 20 million KRW and follow-up support for technology verification (PoC) starting in 2025.
Technology verification is a crucial process for startup companies to enter the market, where it is confirmed in advance whether early-stage technology, which is not yet fully developed as a product or service, will function properly in the market.
The Excellence Award went to TG Society Co., Ltd. for the 'Car Driving Training Matching Platform,' the Merit Award to Bitnaneun Contents for the 'AI-based Self-Branding Education Service' and Atrip Korea for the 'Public Institution-linked Cultural Experience Event Using Waste Resources,' and the Encouragement Award to Instedy Club for proposing the 'AI-based Celebrity Voice Dubbing Technology.'
Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu City, emphasized, “Uijeongbu City will continuously invest to help startup companies take root in the region. We will integrate creative and practical ideas into city administration to become a city that grows together with startups.”
