Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree to Kang Young-jin, CEO of Youngjin Power Tool Co., Ltd.
On the 8th, Dong-Eui University held the "21st Honorary Doctorate Degree Conferment Ceremony" at the Seokdang Art Hall in the International Hall, attended by President Han Su-hwan, Graduate School Dean Kang Jae-cheol, faculty members, staff, CEO Kang Young-jin, his family, and acquaintances.
Dong-Eui University is awarding an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree to Kang Young-jin, CEO of Youngjin Power Tool.
In his awarding speech, President Han Su-hwan said, “CEO Kang has greatly contributed to raising the technological level of the manufacturing industry through the production and distribution of cutting tools that support manufacturing. He has also consistently engaged in social contribution activities such as meal funds for low-income groups and scholarship projects, demonstrating principled corporate management and long-term dedication to the development of the nation and region. In recognition of these merits, we confer the honorary Doctor of Engineering degree to CEO Kang Young-jin.”
CEO Kang Young-jin, who received the degree, said, “Despite my young age, I had to suspend my studies to support my family and entered the industrial field. However, I continuously studied the tool industry I was involved in and actively participated in technical training at the world’s top companies beyond Korea to enhance my technical skills. I hope young students will challenge themselves and strive to become the best in their fields. I consider it an immense honor to become a member of Dong-Eui University, which has grown into a leading regional university guiding the future industrial era, and I will do my best to support the academic pursuits of future scholars.”
CEO Kang Young-jin founded Bu-il Sangsa at the age of 26 in 1980 and has grown it into Youngjin Power Tool Co., Ltd., a specialized company in the distribution and solutions of cutting tools with annual sales exceeding 30 billion KRW as of 2024. He has received various awards for social contributions, including commendations from the Yeongdo District Office, Busan City Council, National Police Agency, and the Mayor of Busan.
