The 18th Yangsan National Youth Unity Festival Successfully Concluded

Youth from Across the Country Gather for Passionate Performances and Abundant Experiences

The 18th Yangsan National Youth Unity Festival, hosted by Yangsan City and jointly organized by the Yangsan Youth Center and Soju Youth Culture House, was successfully held on the 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. around the Hwangsan Park Unique Plaza.

About 1,000 youths, families, and citizens participated in this festival, providing a venue for young people to freely express their passion and creativity.


This year’s theme was set as ‘Re: Start,’ conveying the meaning of enjoying today with a fresh start. The festival was enriched through collaboration with various organizations inside and outside the region in the youth competition stage and club zone (experience booths) sections.


The stage competition was divided into music and performance categories, with 18 youth teams from across the country delivering energetic performances. In the club zone (experience booths) section, eight youth teams presented unique themes, offering citizens a precious time of distinctive enjoyment.


The grand prize for the club stage competition went to LIVE (Yangsan Youth Center Rock Band), who received the Yangsan Mayor’s Award and a prize of 2 million KRW. In the music category, the grand prize (1.5 million KRW) was awarded to the youth pungmul group Yeoul, and excellence awards (700,000 KRW each) went to SKINS and J-Sung.


Encouragement awards and 200,000 KRW prizes were given to the teams Gandeulbaram, Malhaneun Gamja, The Next, 1.4.0., and ON AIR. In the performance category, the grand prize went to Holic, with Rabbit and Kung teams receiving excellence awards. In the club zone (experience booths) section, the grand prize was awarded to Happy Together, and excellence awards went to P.T.P and Cheong-eum.


The commemorative ceremony and awards ceremony were attended by distinguished guests including Cho Hyun-ok, Deputy Mayor of Yangsan City, provincial assembly members, the chairman of the city council, and the head of the Yangsan Office of Education, who praised the active cultural activities of the youth through congratulatory speeches and messages. Deputy Mayor Cho Hyun-ok especially delivered a message encouraging the healthy growth of youths and their self-directed club activities.


During the ceremony, commendations were also given to meritorious individuals in the youth field, including one outstanding youth leader, with 13 recipients of the Yangsan Mayor’s Award, 8 recipients of the National Assembly Member’s Award, and 5 recipients of the City Council Chairman’s Award.


One youth awardee said, “I am honored to receive an award at the Unity Festival, and it was even more meaningful and enjoyable to receive an award while enjoying the festival. I want to participate again to run a booth and enjoy the stage.”


Following the ceremony, cultural performances by the Seo Min-jin Band and BASTARZ heightened the festival’s excitement with jazz and dance, followed by performances by rapper Irohan and singer LIGHTSUM, allowing youths to connect with the stage and bringing the festival atmosphere to its peak.


This festival was especially meaningful as a place of harmony where youths actively participated and operated competitions and experiences to encourage creativity and self-expression, while families and friends came together to enjoy.


A Yangsan City official stated, “We will continue to strive and spare no support to provide more opportunities for youths to nurture their dreams.”
