Discount Sale of Local Agricultural Products Starts on 15th
Taean County in Chungnam is holding a special sales event to offer high-quality napa cabbage and kimchi seasoning to local consumers for the kimchi-making season.
According to Taean County, throughout November, the Taean Local Food Project Group is selling salted napa cabbage and kimchi seasoning produced in Taean at affordable prices.
During the special sale, salted napa cabbage from Anmyeondo in Taean, prepared by salting with Taean solar sea salt for three days and washed three times, as well as kimchi seasoning, will be available for purchase.
The price is 39,000 won per 20kg box of salted napa cabbage (7-8 heads, halved), and 98,000 won per 8kg box of kimchi seasoning (suitable for 20kg of salted napa cabbage).
Consumers who wish to purchase can place their orders by phone or through the website of the Taean Local Food Direct Store.
The first round of orders closes on the 16th, with all shipments sent out on the 21st. The second round closes on the 23rd, with shipments on the 28th.
Those who wish to pick up their orders in person may visit the Taean Local Food Direct Store on the 22nd (for first-round orders) or the 29th (for second-round orders) after making a reservation in advance.
For delivery, an additional fee of 6,000 won per box will be charged, and the salted napa cabbage and seasoning will be shipped separately. Please note that no additional orders or cancellations can be made after the order deadline.
Additionally, Taean Local Food will begin a discount event from the 15th for various agricultural specialties related to kimchi-making, such as boiled pork belly, kimchi seasoning ingredients, anchovy and sand lance fish sauce, and salted shrimp, to wish for the successful hosting of the Taean International Horticultural Therapy Expo in 2026.
A county official stated, "We organized this special sales event to increase the income of local farmers and provide consumers with high-quality agricultural products," and added, "We will continue to focus on quality control so that the Local Food Direct Store can be both a source of income for local farmers and a beloved place for consumers to purchase excellent local specialties."
Meanwhile, Taean County also held a special sales event for salted napa cabbage and kimchi seasoning last November, achieving total sales of 42.24 million won, including 24.6 million won from 615 boxes (20kg each) of salted napa cabbage and 17.64 million won from 196 boxes (8kg each) of kimchi seasoning.
