Researcher Paper Presentations and Special Sessions Conducted
The Korean Society for Management Information Systems announced on the 11th that it will hold the "2024 Fall International Academic Conference" at Seoul National University Business School on the 14th and 15th.
The theme of this international academic conference is "Value Creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Era of Digital Transformation." Over 110 papers and tutorials will be presented across 21 sections. Participants from 38 universities and 25 companies and institutions will engage in academic and practical discussions.
On the first day, an industry-academia exchange event and a company visit to "Naver 1784" will take place. Following this, Professor Hyuncheol Ahn from Kookmin University will present "2025 Digital Business Trends" at the Hoam Faculty House of Seoul National University. Congratulatory remarks will be delivered by Dean Joon Chae of Seoul National University Business School and Jongseong Hwang, President of the National Information Society Agency.
On the second day, congratulatory speeches will be given by Youngjoo Oh, Minister of SMEs and Startups, and Hyungil Lee, Commissioner of Statistics Korea. The keynote lecture will be delivered by Victoria Yoon, editor-in-chief of the internationally renowned journal Decision Support Systems and professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. Additionally, dialogues will be held with Byungtak Jang, Director of the Seoul National University AI Research Institute, Jungwoo Ha, Head of Naver Cloud Center, and Hyunjung Kim, CEO of IBM Consulting.
Alongside researchers' paper presentations, various special sessions will be conducted. The special sessions prepared this time include invited research lectures by mid-career scholars, a special session on career management for early-career researchers, and sessions discussing AI research and development directions in major Asian regions. Sessions inviting senior professors from academia to share their insights and tutorial sessions reviewing the status of domestic AI platforms and AI-based healthcare companies are also planned.
An awards ceremony for organizations and individuals will also be held during the conference. Awards such as the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award, Commissioner of Statistics Korea Award, and President of the National Information Society Agency Award will be presented.
