The Happy Prism Family Volunteer Group of Hyundai Steel's Dangjin Steelworks concluded its 6th term of activities on the 7th with a cultural heritage preservation activity at Myeoncheonhyanggyo.
Before engaging in the preservation activities, the family volunteer group took time to learn about the history and origins of Myeoncheonhyanggyo, as well as Confucian culture.
Myeoncheonhyanggyo is a representative educational institution of Dangjin from the Joseon Dynasty era, responsible for secondary education, and was designated as Chungcheongnam-do Monument No. 141 in 1997.
The Happy Prism Family Volunteer Group planted flowering trees, installed cultural heritage information boards and storage cabinets for traditional experience costumes, and carried out environmental improvement activities.
They installed two storage cabinets for visitors to store traditional costumes provided for hands-on experiences at Myeoncheonhyanggyo, and prepared and installed six information boards throughout the site.

Additionally, they planted 300 azalea bushes in the Myeoncheonhyanggyo area and conducted environmental improvement activities to help protect the cultural heritage.
Hong Seokwoo and his family, who participated in the activities, said, "Whenever there was a volunteer activity, we attended without fail, almost as an annual family event. I am grateful that over the past two years, we were able to create precious and meaningful memories with our children in various places around Dangjin."
Meanwhile, Happy Prism, consisting of families of Dangjin Steelworks employees, was established in 2013 and has continued its activities every year since.
The 6th term of the Happy Prism Family Volunteer Group is concluding its two-year journey with this final activity. The 6th group, which began with a launching ceremony in March last year, consists of 80 families and 266 members.
Since starting its activities in March 2023, the cumulative number of participants in the volunteer group has reached 1,375, with a total of 5,484 volunteer hours recorded.
