This event was planned to promote the mental health of the elderly in Ipam-myeon, who have been experiencing economic and psychological difficulties due to the heavy rains last summer, and to alleviate social isolation.
The program featured Gi Woong Ajae, famous as the host of TBC's Singsing Gohyang Byeolgok, as the instructor. With the message, "The life you have lived is the greatest gratitude and miracle," it provided participants with a special time to reflect on gratitude in life and foster positive emotions.
The program was conducted with a special lecture and a sharing-the-heart performance, offering an opportunity to communicate and build bonds through the sincere stories of the elderly.
On the day of the event, a comprehensive mental health screening and counseling booth were also operated. The Mental Health Welfare Center provided screening and counseling services to detect and prevent mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and loneliness in old age at an early stage, and supported health management services including dementia prevention cognitive enhancement experiences and blood pressure and blood sugar measurements.
County Governor Oh Do-chang said, "I hope this 'Finding Happiness and Gratitude Storytelling' program served as an opportunity for the elderly to overcome loneliness and regain positive emotions," adding, "We will continue to show sustained interest and efforts for the mental health of the elderly in the local community."
