The value and beauty of Korea's intangible cultural heritage will be introduced in Argentina.
The Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on the 11th that from the 21st, an exhibition titled "Transcendence (超越); Connecting Space Beyond Life and Time" will be held at the Korean Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This event aims to widely promote traditional crafts made by Korean artisans. The exhibition is organized into traditional spaces such as Sarangchae, Anchae, and Numaru. It showcases 148 works by holders and masters of 21 national intangible heritage categories.
Visitors can see a pen case and paperweight made by a holder of the Nipsa technique, which decorates metal surfaces by carving grooves and inlaying gold or silver wires, as well as traditional wedding bojagi (wrapping cloth) featuring delicate stitching by a holder of the Chimseonjang technique. A bow frame featuring a Gakgung (角弓), a traditional Korean horn bow made from buffalo horn and cow tendons, will also be introduced.
An official from the Cultural Heritage Administration said, "We hope this will be an opportunity to widely promote the beauty and precious value of our traditional crafts in Argentina."
The exhibition is free to visit until the 30th.
