Dongmyung University will hold a vibrant ‘Do-ing Culture Day’ event for over 1,300 international students on the 13th.

This global festival, held for the first time this year as part of the University Innovation Support Project, aims to foster communication and help students adapt well to life in Korea through traditional cultural and artistic performances and experiences from various countries, as well as a unity sports competition.

The event, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., consists of three sections: ▲Cultural Performances and Experiences ▲Unity Sports Competition ▲Career Exploration, with about 1,000 international students participating to come together as one.

The morning cultural performances and experiences introduce traditional cultures and histories of each country through performances and contests. Students can also experience Korean traditional games such as Yutnori, Tuho, Jegichagi, and Hanbok wearing, as well as Korean food tasting including Tteokbokki and Sikhye. In the afternoon, activities such as tug-of-war and an international soccer tournament will take place.

Career development companies and navigator organizations (KOWORK, UNIPORT, AINATION, Busan Global City Foundation) have set up on-site booths to provide counseling for international students seeking employment in Korea. Performances by the Taekwondo Department, Military Science Department, and Korean students are also anticipated.

Han Jun-gi, Director of the International Student Support Office at Dongmyung University, said, “We will operate various support programs from admission to employment so that international students feel a sense of belonging to our region and university and can smoothly settle into Korean society.”

In addition to visa consultations, the International Student Support Office at Dongmyung University has been hosting various support events such as Korean traditional culture experiences, field trips, human rights and legal education, and foreign student sports competitions to help students learn about Korea’s economy and culture and enjoy their student life.

Currently, Dongmyung University has about 1,300 international students from 20 countries, including approximately 900 undergraduate and 400 graduate students.
