Exploration and Empirical Study of the Perception Process of Fashion Images Created by Generative AI
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 11th that Professor Shin Young Lee and Dr. Ji-yeon Kim from the Department of Fashion Design received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award from the Korean Society of Clothing Industry.
The Korean Society of Clothing Industry, founded in 1988, is a research organization for clothing studies with over 2,000 domestic and international members and more than 80 participating organizations.
Professor Shin Young Lee and Dr. Ji-yeon Kim received the award at the "2024 Korean Society of Clothing Industry Fall Academic Conference" held at Ewha Womans University on the 2nd.
The conference, themed "Conditions of Survival - All in Korea for the Evolution of the Fashion Industry," was a forum to discuss information and values aimed at nurturing talent that meets the demands and needs of the textile and fashion industry. A total of 122 oral and poster research papers were presented.
The paper awarded to Professor Shin Young Lee and Dr. Ji-yeon Kim is titled "A Study on Cognitive Differences of AI-Generated Fashion Images through Analysis of Gaze Shift Frequency." This study explores the cognitive process of fashion images created by generative AI by collecting data using eye-tracking technology and analyzing the frequency of gaze shifts to empirically demonstrate the image cognition process.
Dr. Ji-yeon Kim said, "I am pleased to receive this award for research that began with considerations on the use and application of generative AI technology in the fashion industry, and I will continue to strive to achieve differentiated research outcomes. I am grateful to my advisor who provided unwavering support and guidance to start this research."
