Rapid Promotion of Local Economic Revitalization and Youth Job Creation
Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yong-hak) announced on the 11th that it conducted an on-site visit with its management team on the 8th to check the progress of the project in the Centum 2 District Urban High-tech Industrial Complex (1.91 million㎡), which has been designated as an Urban Convergence Special Zone.
This visit was arranged to directly inspect the construction site of Phase 1, Section 1, which began on the 1st, and to emphasize the importance of swift project advancement following the designation of the Urban Convergence Special Zone.
The BMC management team urged thorough safety, environmental, and progress management at the Phase 1 construction site. In particular, they stressed the successful promotion of the project, including the establishment of a Special Zone Promotion Foundation to support companies within the Urban Convergence Special Zone and create youth jobs, in cooperation with Busan City.
The Phase 1 construction in Centum 2 District is being prioritized in the eastern Section 1 (100,000㎡) of the 170,000㎡ site, excluding the western area where compensation procedures for obstacles are required. The western section (70,000㎡) is scheduled to begin construction in 2025.
President Kim Yong-hak stated, “With five Urban Convergence Special Zones designated nationwide simultaneously, we will do our best to make Busan’s Urban Convergence Special Zone a leading example that advances the project with speed. Through this, we aim to create local jobs, achieve industrial innovation, and contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents.”
