Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced that from the 11th to the 17th, it will hold a new character name guessing event following the reconfiguration of the existing Oseong and Haneum characters and the development of a new character.
The new character's name embodies the value of coexistence as a "community where people want to live and stay," and metaphorically expresses Pocheon's image of walking together with its citizens.
Citizens who wish to participate can enter their answers in the Naver form and submit them. Winners will be announced on the 20th.
Lee Jin-hee, the Public Relations Officer, said, "We hope the new character, born from Pocheon's clear and clean well, will serve as the mascot of Pocheon City and convey the beauty and uniqueness of Pocheon to many people," adding, "We ask for the citizens' great interest and participation."
