The event titled ‘Save Race, Run for Every Child’ was held as an eco-friendly marathon, reflecting the purpose of ‘supporting the Earth and future generations through running,’ with all event materials and waste made from recycled materials. The 3,000 participants ran a 10 km round-trip sharing race from Yeouido Hangang Park to World Cup Bridge, contributing to support for children. The participation fees will be fully used for children suffering from climate crises such as droughts, floods, and typhoons. Earlier in July, KakaoBank, which signed a business agreement with the Korea Committee for UNICEF, donated 1 billion KRW to a fund for children affected by the climate crisis and actively supported the cause by holding an additional fund transfer ceremony of 300 million KRW on the marathon day.

Actress Kwon Yuri (Girls' Generation Yuri) not only ran together with the participants sharing the same purpose but also attended a talk concert to deliver messages about the climate crisis and future generations. Kwon said, "It was a meaningful time to healthily participate in sharing through this marathon," adding, "I will strive to think more about and practice what I can do for the Earth and future generations."

Jo Mi-jin, Secretary General of the Korea Committee for UNICEF, said, "Natural disasters caused by the climate crisis are occurring frequently around the world, threatening the lives of children globally. Now more than ever, our attention and action are needed for children affected by the climate crisis who lose their homes, schools, and communities in an instant," and added, "We thank the participants, Kwon Yuri, and KakaoBank for joining forces to support future generations who will bear the full burden of the climate crisis."
