A Chinese national who was arrested for filming the National Intelligence Service building with a drone has been released.

On the 11th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that Mr. A, a man in his 40s with Chinese nationality, who was suspected of violating the Aviation Safety Act, was investigated for two days and returned home the day before.

However, the police imposed a travel ban on Mr. A.


A police official stated, "He is under investigation without detention while subject to a travel ban," and added, "We are also conducting a verification investigation with related agencies regarding possible charges of national security offenses."


Mr. A is suspected of filming the National Intelligence Service building nearby while operating a drone at 2:10 p.m. on the 9th in Naegok-dong, Gangnam-dong, where Heuninreung, Historic Site No. 194, is located.
