Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced that eight public libraries in the city will sequentially close their library reading rooms from the 11th to December 20th for book inventory checks.
The book inventory check is a biennial process to verify the consistency between the book data in the library management system and the actual books, as well as to identify lost or damaged books.
The inventory check schedule is as follows: Misa Library from the 11th to 15th, Sinjang Library from the 18th to 22nd, Narul Library from the 25th to 29th, Eoullim Small Library on December 2nd, Deokpung Library from December 2nd to 4th, Ilga Library from December 5th to 6th, Semi Library from December 10th to 12th, and Wirye Library from December 17th to 20th.
To minimize inconvenience to citizens, only the reading rooms of the targeted libraries will be closed, while reading rooms and cultural classrooms will operate normally.
During the inspection period, lending and interlibrary loan services for the respective libraries will be suspended, and the due dates for returning materials will be automatically extended beyond the inspection period.
Jin Il-sun, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, requested, “This book inventory check aims to assess the condition of the collections to provide smoother library services and a more pleasant environment for users. We ask for the citizens’ cooperation and understanding.”
