Mungumju Urges Special Investigation into 'Kim Geonhee and Yoon Seokyeol's State Power Abuse'

"'Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act' 10 Million Signature Campaign"

Moon Geum-ju, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin in Jeonnam), announced on the 10th that she and key party members of the local committee officially launched a street petition campaign to urge the enactment of the "Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act," aiming to gather 10 million signatures starting from the 9th.

On the first day of the petition campaign, activities were held at major locations in the four counties of the constituency: Hanaro Mart in Doyang-eup, Goheung County; the Paris Baguette intersection in Boseong-eup; the entrance of Jangheung County Office; and in front of the Nonghyup Central Association in Gangjin County.

The petition drive was led by Representative Moon and included current and former provincial and county council members from the four counties, as well as local party members. They visited busy market alleys to appeal to local residents about the necessity of pushing forward the special prosecutor law.

Representative Moon stated, "From the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case to the luxury bag bribery incident, followed by numerous allegations of state affairs manipulation, nomination interference, and personnel involvement surrounding Mrs. Kim Gun-hee, the National Human Rights Commission, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, and political prosecutors have consistently granted impunity." She condemned, "The 'fairness and common sense' that President Yoon Seok-yeol used to frequently mention have long disappeared, leaving only state affairs manipulation marked by 'unfairness and illegality' surrounding Mrs. Kim Gun-hee."

She further added, "President Yoon Seok-yeol’s national address on the 7th was a moment to confirm that there is nothing more to expect and nothing should be expected, as it showed a 'dog apology season 2' attitude, not even knowing what was wrong." She strongly asserted, "Now, impeachment is the only answer."

Representative Moon plans to continue the street petition campaign until the 10 million signatures demanding a special prosecutor to investigate the Kim Gun-hee and Yoon Seok-yeol state affairs manipulation are achieved.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Korea’s local committee for Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin is also conducting a "1 million signature petition urging the acquittal of Representative Lee Jae-myung," which has currently gathered about 10,000 signatures.
