At around 4:30 a.m. on the 10th, a fire broke out at the refractory factory inside POSCO Future M in Cheongnim-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk, damaging some equipment.
The fire department deployed personnel and equipment and extinguished the fire completely within 30 minutes.
The fire location is about 4 km in a straight line from the Pohang Steelworks 3 Finex Plant, where a fire occurred 10 minutes earlier at around 4:20 a.m.
There were no casualties from this fire.
A POSCO Future M official stated, "Today's fire is unrelated to the earlier fire at POSCO Pohang Steelworks, and the plant is currently operating normally."
