Recruitment of Participants for Guitar and Drum Categories Until November 22...Final Competition to Be Held on December 14 at Geumcheon 50 Plus Center
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting participants for the "2024 1st Flower Middle-aged Band Festival" until 1 PM on November 22.
This event was prepared to help middle-aged and older adults communicate through music and strengthen their bonds with the local community.
Residents of Geumcheon-gu aged 40 to 69 or workers at workplaces located in Geumcheon-gu can participate in the acoustic guitar and acoustic drum categories. Participants can perform solo on guitar or drums, or perform ensemble pieces with these as the main instruments. Both cover songs and original compositions are freely selectable.
Preliminary participants must submit a performance video file within 10 minutes along with the application form via email to the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center.
The preliminary results will be announced on November 29 on the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center website and individual notifications will be sent to participants. Teams that pass the preliminary screening will compete in the final round at 3 PM on December 14 at the performance hall on the 3rd floor of the Geumcheon Musical Center.
After the competition, an awards ceremony will follow where prize money of 200,000 KRW for the grand prize, 150,000 KRW for the gold prize, and 100,000 KRW for the silver prize will be awarded.
Residents wishing to watch the final competition can apply by phone or visit the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center, or apply for remaining seats on the day of the performance at the venue.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I hope the Flower Middle-aged Band Festival will create a joyful experience where residents support each other's musical dreams," and added, "We will support the middle-aged generation to unfold their second life."
The district is supporting life planning for middle-aged residents in their 40s to 60s through various programs including the "Flower Middle-aged Band Project," expert training courses, and cooking education.
