Hyundai Transys Union Withdraws Strike... Normal Attendance from the 11th Hyundai Transys Labor Union

According to the automotive industry on the day, the Hyundai Transys union held the 16th Strike Countermeasure Committee meeting and announced a work directive from the committee stating that the strike would end and all union members would return to normal work starting from the 11th.

The union stated that although the strike is ending, they will refuse overtime and extra work until the conclusion of this year's wage and collective bargaining agreement (wage and labor agreement) negotiations. The union said, "We judged that the negotiations could be prolonged, so we plan to end the strike and focus solely on collective bargaining."

Hyundai Transys, a parts affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, has held a total of 15 rounds of wage and labor agreement negotiations since June, but the labor and management sides failed to narrow their differences, leading the union to go on strike from early last month. The strike, which began on the 8th of last month at the Jikok plant in Seosan, Chungnam, Hyundai Transys' largest workplace, expanded into a general strike three days later on the 11th.

Due to the Hyundai Transys union's strike disrupting the supply of transmissions, some lines at Hyundai Motor's Ulsan Plant 1 were temporarily halted. Hyundai Transys is an affiliate that produces more than 4 million transmissions annually for major models of Hyundai Motor and Kia.
