‘Mapo-gu Hyodo School’ Begins with a Great Lecture by Star Teacher Choi Tae-sung

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the opening ceremony for the 2nd term of the Filial Piety School on the morning of November 9th at the central hall of Mapo Central Library.

The 'Mapo Filial Piety School' is a specialized lifelong education program unique to Mapo-gu, designed to remind people of the importance of family and to spread the culture of filial piety under the concept that "everyone is both a parent and a child."

About 300 residents attended the opening ceremony, joining in the launch of the second session of the Mapo Filial Piety School.

On this day, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, appointed and presented a certificate to Choi Tae-sung, known as the 'Big Star Teacher,' who gave the first lecture of the 2nd term as an instructor of the Filial Piety School.

Afterwards, Choi Tae-sung delivered an engaging lecture titled "Filial Sons and Daughters Are Made by Their Parents," sharing stories of filial piety (孝) from history, helping residents to redefine filial piety in today’s context.

Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo-gu said, "In the approaching super-aged society, caring for the elderly is a responsibility that the entire community must share," adding, "We have invited experts from various fields to open the Filial Piety School to provide education on filial piety that resonates across generations, so we ask for your great interest and participation."

The Mapo Filial Piety School will be held every Saturday at 10 a.m. until November 30th.
