Dangjin City Council's Industrial Construction Committee Holds Meeting with National Assembly Member Uh Ki-gu

Exploring Information Sharing and Cooperation Measures on Local Issues

The Industrial Construction Committee of the Dangjin City Council in Chungnam held a meeting on the 7th, inviting National Assembly member Uh Ki-gu to share and seek cooperation on major local issues.

Attendees at the meeting included committee members Yoon Myungsoo, Jeon Youngok, Kim Myungjin, Choi Yeonsook, Kim Myunghoe, Kim Sunho, and Shim Eesoo, as well as National Assembly member Uh Ki-gu (three-term, Chairman of the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee) and Secretary Chae Sungwoo.

During the meeting, the committee members discussed and sought cooperation on projects requiring government funding, such as the construction of a new police training center, installation of leachate treatment facilities at the Godae Bugok landfill, carbon neutrality and high-quality resource utilization projects, replacement of the electronic display board at Dangjin Sports Complex, expansion of Solmoe Public Cemetery, and the construction of the Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port access road (Sinpyeong to Naehang).

Other local projects discussed included the promotion of Dangjin Tax Office's upgrade, designation of Seokmun National Industrial Complex as a foreign investment zone, establishment of the Maritime Police Human Resources Development Center, development of Dangjin port waterfront facilities, development of hydrogen (ammonia) berths at Dangjin Port, creation of a premium lake park in the city center, construction of an alternative bypass for National Route 32, passing of the feasibility re-examination for the Dangjin~Asan Expressway construction, and the central region east-west railway project. The current status of these projects was shared, and mutual cooperation measures were explored.

Yoon Myungsoo, the committee chair, stated, "Through this meeting, we formed a deep consensus with our local National Assembly member Uh Ki-gu on local issues and major projects," adding, "We requested active cooperation and support to ensure these projects can be implemented in a timely manner for the development of Dangjin City."

Uh Ki-gu responded, "It was very meaningful to have an honest discussion with local council members about regional issues, and I hope such opportunities will be held more frequently in the future," and added, "I will do my utmost in the National Assembly to ensure that the matters discussed today are carried out without any setbacks."
