Attorney No Young-hee for Kang Hye-kyung, Attorney Kim So-yeon for Myung Tae-kyun Criticized
Alleged to Have Shown a High-Handed Attitude Toward Students
Mr. Myeong Taegyun appeared at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office to undergo investigation as a key figure in the ‘nomination interference suspicion’ involving President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife, while lawyer Roh Young-hee criticized Mr. Myeong’s legal counsel.
On the 8th, Lawyer Roh posted on social media (SNS), "Students from Changwon National University, Mr. Myeong Taegyun’s alma mater, asked questions demanding the truth be revealed, but Mr. Myeong’s lawyer, Lawyer Kim Soyeon, responded to the students in a high-handed manner, saying 'Be quiet' and 'It’s so noisy I could die,' speaking informally and showing irritation." She added, "You really chose a great lawyer, Mr. Myeong Taegyun."

Lawyer Roh is representing Kang Hyekyung, who was the accounting manager for former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Youngseon, who is suspected of being the person who ordered the nomination interference involving President Yoon and his wife. Ms. Kang claims that Mr. Myeong secured the nomination from former lawmaker Kim through Mrs. Kim by conducting opinion polls for President Yoon.
Students from Mr. Myeong’s alma mater, Changwon National University, and other university students from the Gyeongnam region reportedly held a protest for about an hour before Mr. Myeong arrived at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, holding placards that read "Changwon National University senior Myeong Taegyun, we are ashamed of you." The students shouted at Mr. Myeong, "How can you manipulate state affairs?" and "Reveal the truth." A video recording of the scene showed Lawyer Kim responding with "Be quiet, it’s noisy."
Meanwhile, on the same morning, when asked by reporters whether Lawyer Kim denied all charges against Mr. Myeong, including the nomination bribery allegations, she replied, "Of course." She added, "There are statements that Kang Hyekyung, the former accounting manager for ex-lawmaker Kim Youngseon, already made during the National Election Commission investigation, and if you consider why Kang was not allowed to have her lawyer present and had to go in alone, the answer will come out." After about eight hours of investigation by the prosecution, Mr. Myeong said, "This case has two mountains of lies," and "The (false) mountains built by News Tomato and Ms. Kang will collapse one by one."
