For Research Activities of the 'Chiyu Nong-eop Jinheung Yeonguhoe'

The Gwangju City Healing Agriculture Promotion Research Association (Representative Assemblyman Park Sang-young) announced on the 8th that it visited Buyeo County, its sister city, for a two-day schedule from the 5th to the 6th.

This visit was planned to benchmark Buyeo County's excellent healing farms, with which a sister city agreement was signed last month, and to strengthen cooperation between the two cities.

Buyeo County is a city specialized in agriculture, producing the largest quantities of watermelons, chestnuts, and button mushrooms nationwide, making it suitable for healing agriculture research activities. It shares many common issues with Gwangju City, such as population decline problems faced by Namhansanseong and Namjong-myeon, as well as various development restrictions.

On the first day of activities, the research association visited 'Jindallae Tourist Farm' located in Oksan-myeon, Buyeo County, listened to explanations from the facility representative, and actually experienced the healing program. They also examined the experience center installed with local subsidies, understood the need for support regarding various costs involved in maintaining the facility, and recognized the importance of long-term operation of healing programs. Additionally, they reviewed additional revenue models such as private garden registration and camping site operation.

The healing farm visited on the second day, 'Saranghaneun Geudae-ui Jeongwon' (The Garden of My Beloved), is a healing farm operated by a young representative using greenhouses. It provided an opportunity to explore support measures for young farmers by comparing similarities with Ultra Farm, which was visited during the previous field trip.

A research association official said, "We concluded our research activities with a meeting with members of the Buyeo County Council," adding, "We will continue to actively exchange with Buyeo County for mutual development."

Meanwhile, the Gwangju City Healing Agriculture Promotion Research Association is led by Assemblyman Park Sang-young and includes Assemblymen Oh Hyun-joo, Lee Eun-chae, Jo Ye-ran, and Choi Seo-yoon. They are dedicated to research activities to carry out practical legislative activities through the cultivation of knowledge about local agriculture.
