Prosecutor Im said, "The laws and principles we (prosecutors) uphold mean 'my own will.' Because it is my law." She added, "When the special prosecutor investigated the state affairs manipulation case, prosecutors loyal to the Park Geun-hye administration risked their lives because they thought the regime would change. Now, since investigating would mean my death, the special prosecutor should not be appointed. They always speak as needed, as they have always done."
Prosecutor Im also referred to the case when President Yoon, as the head of the Central District Prosecutors' Office, re-investigated the previously dismissed BBK and DAS cases, which led to the arrest of former President Lee Myung-bak. She said, "Isn't President Yoon the one who initially said BBK and DAS were not related to former President Lee Myung-bak, but later admitted they were and had him arrested?" She sharply added, "You shouldn't be deceived again when you've been fooled more than once."

Regarding President Yoon's attitude at the press conference, she commented, "He seemed like a prosecutor general having a meeting." Prosecutor Im said, "As expected, he acted like a prosecutor general in a meeting at the prosecution office, speaking casually with a mix of informal language. He spoke about national governance issues as if they were family matters." She added, "I knew he was that kind of person, but I wonder how shocked the public must have been. It's embarrassing."
Earlier, at the national address and press conference held at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the previous day, President Yoon claimed, "Appointing a special prosecutor opposed by the president and the ruling party itself is fundamentally against the Constitution." Since President Yoon had previously served as the head of the 'Park Geun-hye State Affairs Manipulation Special Prosecutor' investigation team during the Park Geun-hye administration, this remark drew criticism for being inappropriate.
