The landslide vulnerable areas designated this time are a total of 4 locations (Sann81, Nakyang-dong, and 3 other locations). Based on the Korea Forest Service's preliminary survey, areas with a high risk of landslides were selected through a service project and decided as landslide vulnerable areas through committee deliberation.
The city plans to carry out disaster prevention projects next year by designating and announcing the vulnerable areas in November.
So far, 23 locations have been designated and announced as landslide vulnerable areas within the jurisdiction, and projects such as the installation of check dams and stream conservation have been carried out with national subsidies.
An official from Uijeongbu City said, "We will establish a thorough emergency system in preparation for the thawing and rainy seasons," and added, "We will do our best to protect citizens' lives and property by continuously monitoring mountainous areas, including landslide vulnerable areas."
