Kakao Conducts Personal Data Protection Training for Small Business Operators

Kakao announced on the 8th that it conducted an online training session to strengthen the personal information protection capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with the Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

Since 2022, Kakao and KISA have been providing personal information protection education targeting SMEs. This training aims to enhance the personal information management capabilities of SMEs using Kakao Business and is open to anyone interested in personal information.

This training was held for the second time following the session in August. It covered personal information protection guidelines based on real cases to prepare for the year-end period when prize events and parcel volumes increase.

Jungwook Joo, a senior researcher at KISA, participated as a speaker and presented on ▲cases of personal information breaches ▲precautions when processing personal information at each stage of Kakao Business ▲actions to take in the event of a personal information leakage incident. The seminar will be available for replay on the Kakao Business seminar website.

A Kakao representative stated, "In addition to our partners, we plan to continuously provide tailored education and support so that SMEs can understand personal information-related laws and operate their businesses safely."
