For Over 400 Parents of 6th Grade Elementary Students
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) will hold a 'Parent Training for Preparing for Middle School Admission' for about 400 parents of 6th-grade elementary school students at 2 p.m. on the 29th in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Busan Education Research and Information Center.
This training aims to help children adapt to school life as they prepare to enter middle school and to enhance parents' understanding of the middle school curriculum.
The Busan Office of Education will focus on increasing parents' satisfaction with public education by strengthening support for parent education through this training.
At the training, Principal Yoo Hyun-ok of Baekyang Middle School and Senior Teacher Kim Moon-seon of Daecheon Middle School will explain the middle school curriculum, free semester system, and school autonomous hours according to the 2022 revised curriculum. Following this, there will be a Q&A session to address parents' questions and share concerns about their children's career paths and school admissions.
Those wishing to participate can apply online on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9 a.m. on the 11th. To provide equal training opportunities to parents, the Office of Education plans to upload the training video to the Secondary Education and Secondary Curriculum Team's YouTube channel in December.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This training will be a great opportunity to resolve parents' questions about the changing curriculum and to provide direction regarding their children's career paths and school admissions for the future society. The Office of Education will do its best to enhance parents' trust in public education policies through various training sessions and briefings."
