A story has been shared about a police officer on his way to work who suspected a suspiciously driving vehicle of drunk driving, chased it, and successfully apprehended the driver. On the 8th, the Gyeonggi Southern Police YouTube channel uploaded a video titled 'OOO Caught Red-Handed by Police on the Way to Work.' According to the video, a short while ago, Sergeant An Hee-wan of the Traffic Safety Division at Suwon Jungbu Police Station spotted a suspicious car while commuting as usual.

The vehicle kept pressing the brake even when there was no need to, swerved while driving, and tried to hit the road curb. It even nearly caused an accident by driving toward a bus stop where people were gathered. In response, he chased the vehicle while calling 112 to report the exact location and driving direction. Sergeant An said in the video, "I was 100% sure this was drunk driving. Otherwise, I suspected it might be drugs or something else, so I pursued it." He added, "I tried to stay as calm as possible, but since I was off duty, I was nervous."

The suspicious vehicle entered a building, but Sergeant An continued the chase. The car scratched a wall while descending the parking lot. After parking crookedly, the driver got out, and as Sergeant An suspected, there was a smell of alcohol. Sergeant An tried to apprehend the driver, who attempted to flee, but Sergeant An subdued him with his hands while continuing the 112 call. Later, responding officers arrived, took the driver into custody, and Sergeant An resumed his commute. It was reported that the driver was in a state of intoxication severe enough to have his license revoked.

Sergeant An said, "I had an inexplicable feeling and, as a police officer, I couldn't just pass by. Even ordinary citizens report and apprehend offenders, so I couldn't avoid the chase." He expressed, "I was glad to have caught the criminal." Citizens who watched the video responded with comments like "Sharp observation skills, impressive," and "Awesome, thank you." Some also expressed concern for the officer's safety, saying, "I hope police officers carry protective gear even during their commute."
