Achievements in Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation and Contributions to Establishing Busan Research Industry Promotion Complex
Busan Institute for Science and Technology Promotion (BISTEP, Director Kim Young-bu) announced on the 7th that Chae Jun-won, head of the Research Industry Promotion TF Team, received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT for contributions to the research industry at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation EXPO held on the 6th.
At this opening ceremony, awards were presented to contributors to industry-academia cooperation (62 awards from the Minister of Education, 6 awards from the Minister of Science and ICT, and 24 awards from the President of the National Research Foundation of Korea).
BISTEP has been promoting policy research for regional science and technology advancement, attracting national R&D projects, and managing Busan city R&D projects. In particular, Team Leader Chae Jun-won was recognized for his outstanding achievements in planning and operating projects such as the RIS project and Busan city industry-academia cooperation R&D projects.
Currently, he is overseeing the practical work of the Busan Research Industry Promotion Complex Development Project (Ministry of Science and ICT) and is dedicated to building an innovative ecosystem in the research industry (custom research sector) as a future growth industry of Busan city.
The Busan Research Industry Promotion Complex Development Project is a project aimed at revitalizing the custom research industry in the digital convergence ICT field, following Busan city’s selection as a pilot area for the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Research Industry Promotion Complex Development Project (designated as Centum City General Industrial Complex) in 2023.
BISTEP is responsible for executing this project and is making efforts to strengthen corporate capabilities and create an innovative ecosystem within the research industry promotion complex through R&D, technical difficulty consulting, talent development support, business matching for technology-demand companies, building cooperative networks, and establishing a database of custom research companies.
