Namyangju Citizens Become Stars on Stage
On the 8th and 10th at Dasan Art Hall... Namyangju Citizens Participate as Actors
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 7th that it will hold the "2024 Namyangju Citizen Nanda Theater" reading play and drama featuring Namyangju citizens as actors at Dasan Art Hall on the 8th and 10th.
The Namyangju Citizen Nanda Theater is part of the "Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation Gyeonggi Arts Support Performing Arts Resident Group Support Project" and is fully funded by provincial government support.
In cooperation with Geukbaljeonso 301, the resident group at Dasan Art Hall, the project aims to train citizen actors and expand the base of local performing arts.
On the 8th, the reading play "Cafe Memory" will be staged. The story revolves around three memories conveyed by a cafe owner, and the 4th generation citizen actors, selected after fierce competition this year, are expected to present an emotional performance.
Following that, on the 10th, the play "Dasan Photo Studio" will welcome the audience. This work, which contains various episodes unfolding in a photo studio inherited from a father, will feature the 3rd generation citizen actors who participated in last year's reading play challenging themselves in drama, offering a unique stage.
A city official stated, "We hope Namyangju citizens feel cultural pride as the main agents of performing arts and contribute to the development of local culture," adding, "We will continue to actively support citizen participation performances to help Namyangju establish itself as a cultural city."
