On the 7th, Ulsan Ulju-gun held a completion ceremony for the Cheongnyangcheon waterfront space construction project at Cheongnyangcheon in Cheongnyang-eup, attended by County Governor Lee Soon-geol, city and county council members, construction officials, and about 200 local residents.
This project was promoted to improve the poor environment around Cheongnyangcheon in Cheongnyang-eup, provide a pleasant waterfront space, and enhance flood control functions. With a county budget of 1.2 billion KRW, construction began in November last year and continued until last month.
Cheongnyangcheon in Deokha-ri, Cheongnyang-eup, is located in an urban area, but since the river was not maintained, there were continuous civil complaints requesting the creation of a waterfront space considering the surrounding environment.
Reflecting these residents' opinions, Ulju-gun renovated the Cheongnyangcheon embankment, created walking trails and bicycle paths, and installed rest areas, establishing a waterfront space that combines environment, scenery, and convenience.
Governor Lee Soon-geol said, "Cheongnyangcheon, located in the center of Deokha-ri urban area, has been reborn as an attractive waterfront river," and added, "I hope it will greatly contribute to providing residents with rest and walking spaces as well as revitalizing the region."
